It's Okay To Cry

Description

The news that her favorite Internet comedian wouldn't be around anymore hit really hard. She loved seeing his videos and other comedic sketches every week. And through him she saw even more awesome people from ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com.

Yes she was excited about the new shows coming up but...it was still really sad that the Nostalgia Critic wouldn't be around anymore. It was like saying goodbye to a close friend.

~*~*~*~

It was late at night and the girl was asleep in her bed when a strange blue glowing figure woke her up. She blearily grasped for her glasses on the nightstand to see what was in her room. When she finally put them on, she saw a young man in a suit jacket with a white t-shirt, a black hat, jeans, and a red tie. She blinked a few times before a small whisper escaped her lips.

"N-Nostalgia Critic?"

He nodded and motioned for her to follow him outside of her room. She complied and walked with him to the living room, shutting the door behind her.

He sat on a nearby couch and patted the seat beside him, wanting her to sit down. She did and said nothing while he was looking at his surroundings while she was trying to process this.

Why would he come here? Was it a dream? If it was, she hoped she wouldn't have to wake up.

The Critic then turned to her with a smile. "You're a fan of mine, right?" he said. The girl nodded shyly and he chuckled. "I thought so." He then looked away closing his eyes. "I guess that's why you're taking my saving the world and not being able to do anymore videos pretty hard..."

She swallowed hard before speaking up. "I really liked watching you every week..." she sounded. "Your videos made me smile every time I watched them. A-And getting to know the other video makers of your website was even better..." She smiled a little before blinking away the inevitable tears welling up in her eyes. "I-I'm truly grateful for you saving the world and discovering your website and I'm trying to be strong but..." She was darn near to the point of sobbing before she looked up at him with her eyes.

"I'll miss you..."

The Critic turned back with surprise on his face before going back to having a serene smile. "You know, it's okay to miss me. And it's okay to cry." He then gave her his trademark joking grin before saying "Trust me kiddo, you'll feel a hell of a lot better afterwards."

Those words broke the floodgate. She began to cry into his jacket without any restraint with him patting her back in understanding.

When she had calmed down enough to the point of lightly sniffling and letting the last few tears leak out, he raised a hand to face and wiped the last few tears away. He then looked at her straight in the eye with a genuine smile saying "Thank you kid." She cocked her head in confusion before he explained himself. "It's fans like you and everyone else out there that really made my show a damn good ride from start to finish. I've had a good run and had a hell of a good time but..." He then stared off into space before sadly saying.

"My time has come."

The girl rubbed her eyes before looking at him in earnest. "We'll never forget you Mr. Critic!" she said with admiration. He looked back in shock before laughing "I appreciate that. As long as you remember, I'll never be gone for good."

Getting up, he looked at the sky outside before giving off a variation of his trademark catchphrase.

"I'm the Nostalgia Critic. I remembered it so you wouldn't have to."

She then gave him a tearful smile before saying "And we'll remember you because we want to."

He nodded with a small tear escaping his eye before disappearing into space with a smile on his lips and a quick salute.
